 In celebration of our "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War traveling exhibit" come to GEPL for a day of Civil War activities! You'll meet Abraham Lincoln, experience the extraordinary lives of everyday Americans, listen to music from the Civil War era, learn about surgery and medicine in the Civil War, and hear about the role of the people of DuPage County in the Underground Railroad. The Youth Department will have an interactive Civil War adventure, arts, crafts, and games from 1:30-4:00.

1:30: Lincoln's Inaugural Address. Meet Lincoln after the address and get his autograph!, 2nd Floor
1:30: Civil War comes to life through the lives of three Illinois women, Youth Program Room
2:00: Interactive Civil War Adventure begins in the Youth Department
2:00: Listen to music from the Civil War era played by Dean Milano on his guitar. 2nd Floor
2:00: Civil War surgeon from the 17th Corps Field Hospital presents on all aspects of Civil War medicine, Meeting Rooms A&B
3:00: Local historian Glennette Tilley Turner talks about the Glen Ellyn area and the Underground Railroad, 2nd Floor
