The Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee is a statewide program in which Illinois adults age 50 and older will have the opportunity to compete locally at the Glen Ellyn Public Library. You’re invited to cheer on the Senior Spelling Bee contestants! Please come and show your support for our seniors as they compete for a chance to advance to the regional semi-finals. Open mic night is a great venue for performers looking to test new material and for art admirers to discover local creative artists.

Sign up starts at 6:30pm with the first performance beginning at 7pm. Each performer will be allotted a ten-minute slot.

This event will be in the library parking lot. In case of rain, the event will take place indoors in the library's meeting rooms.

Creative Writing Kick-off

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students itching to become Lepidopterists (butterfly experts) please volunteer to help us take care of the library’s butterflies. We’ll train you to gather butterfly eggs, find milkweed leaves (food source), clean containers, and release the adult butterflies. After orientation, you’ll be assigned one day a week to tend to our butterflies.
